Support
Lani is built to be calm, patient, and unhurried — and so is our support. Here's how Lani works, what it does and doesn't do, and how to reach a real person if you need one.
Email admin@lani.health. We reply within 1–2 business days. There's no phone tree and no chatbot at the door — just one of us reading your message.
What Lani is
Lani is a warm AI companion designed for older adults. You can talk to Lani by typing or by voice. Lani remembers what matters to you across conversations — your family, your routines, the things you're working through — and shows up with patience and warmth, never judgment.
Inside the app you'll find conversation, reminders that can play short Lani-voiced sounds, a private Medical ID you can keep current, a Health Dashboard that reads from Apple Health with your permission, a Recent Activity "I'm active" signal you control, and quick access to crisis support resources.
What Lani is not
- Lani is not a doctor, a therapist, or a medical device.
- Lani does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or replace professional medical care.
- Lani is not emergency dispatch — Lani's crisis screen helps you reach 988 / 911 / your emergency contact, but the call still goes to those services, not through Lani.
- Lani does not share anything with family or caregivers unless you explicitly opt in to a sharing feature, and the Family Companion App that consumes those summaries is not yet launched.
- Lani does not write data back to Apple Health.
Common questions
How do I sign in?
Lani uses email one-time codes. Enter your email address; we'll send you a 6-digit code. There's no password to remember, and no app store account to set up beyond the one Apple already provides.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app → Settings → Delete account. The app walks you through a confirmation. When you confirm, we remove your profile, conversations, memories, reminders, Medical ID, Recent Activity history, and health summaries from our backend. Backups may retain the data for a short window before they roll off (typically 30 days).
If you can't reach the in-app screen, email admin@lani.health with the email address on your account and we'll handle it manually.
How do I manage Apple Health permissions?
In Lani, open the Health Dashboard → Manage permissions. iOS also lets you adjust per-data-type access in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Lani. Anything you turn off in iOS, Lani stops reading immediately.
Why didn't I hear my reminder sound?
Several iOS-controlled settings can silence a notification sound. Lani never bypasses them. If you expected a Lani voice clip but heard nothing, check each of these:
- The iPhone silent / ring switch on the side of your phone is set to ring (not silent).
- Focus / Do Not Disturb is off, or Lani is on the allow list for the active Focus.
- Apple Watch routing: when a paired Apple Watch is on, awake, and within range, iOS routes notifications to the Watch instead of playing them on the iPhone speaker. Take off / lock / move the Watch out of range, or open the Watch app on your iPhone → Notifications → toggle Mirror iPhone Alerts off for Lani.
- iOS Settings → Notifications → Lani → Sounds is on.
- iOS Settings → Notifications → Lani → Allow Notifications is on, with "Show on Lock Screen" on if you expect locked-screen delivery.
- Ringer volume is above zero.
- Notification Scheduled Summary is not deferring Lani notifications.
- The Use Lani voice reminder sounds toggle at the top of the Reminder Center is on (default is on).
How do I report a bug or share feedback?
Email admin@lani.health with what you saw, what you expected, and (if you can) the iOS version and your iPhone model. Screenshots help. If you were testing through TestFlight, the in-app Send beta feedback action also works and automatically attaches device + build details.
Is my data private?
Yes. Owner-only by default. We don't sell or share your information. The website uses privacy-friendly, cookie-free Vercel Web Analytics for basic visit counts; we don't use advertising pixels or behavioral advertising trackers. The full picture is on our Privacy Policy page.
