Delete your account or data

Updated: June 5, 2026

Lani — the companion app made by Lani Companion Health LLC — lets you remove your account, or just specific pieces of your data, at any time. This page shows the exact steps and what happens to the data afterwards.

Two paths, your choice.

Use Delete the whole account to clear everything Lani has stored about you, or Delete individual items to remove a specific memory, reminder, story, or other piece of data while keeping the rest of your account.

Delete the whole account

Steps inside the Lani app

  1. Open the Lani app and sign in.
  2. Tap Settings (the gear icon).
  3. Scroll to Account and tap Delete account.
  4. Read the confirmation screen, then tap Delete my account to confirm.

The app removes your account and the data listed below from Lani's servers immediately. You'll be signed out, and the next time the app opens it returns to the welcome screen.

If you can't reach the in-app screen

Email admin@lani.health from the email address on your Lani account. Include the phrase "delete my account" in the message. We confirm the request, delete the account within 7 business days, and email you when it's done.

What gets deleted, what is kept

Lani Companion Health LLC removes the following from its production database the moment you confirm the deletion:

DataWhat happens
Your profile (name, email, phone, birthday)Deleted
Conversations with LaniDeleted
Memories & life stories you savedDeleted
Reminders & check-insDeleted
Medical ID entries (conditions, medications, allergies, emergency contacts)Deleted
Health summaries that Lani computed from Apple Health / Health ConnectDeleted from Lani's servers. Raw data in Apple Health / Health Connect is unaffected — Lani only reads, never writes.
Recent-activity ("I'm active") historyDeleted
Push notification tokens for your device(s)Deleted (further pushes are blocked immediately)
Caregiver pairings (the link between your account and any Lani Circle family accounts)The link is removed. Family members are no longer shown your data.
Subscription record (RevenueCat-managed)The Lani-side row is removed. The Apple / Google subscription itself is managed by the app store, not by Lani — cancel it in your App Store or Play Store subscriptions if you have not already.
Encrypted database backupsRetained for up to 30 days, then permanently destroyed by the backup rotation. Backups are not used for any purpose other than disaster recovery.
Server logs (anonymized request logs, error traces)Retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse-investigation purposes, then automatically purged.
Billing / payment records held by Apple, Google, or our payment processorsRetained by those companies per their own policies and applicable tax law. Lani does not store your card or bank details.

Delete individual items (without deleting your account)

You don't have to delete your whole account to clean up your data. Lani is built so you can remove specific items at any time. Account deletion is permanent; deleting individual items lets you keep using Lani while controlling what it remembers.

Memories & life stories

  1. Open the Lani app.
  2. Go to Memories (or Stories).
  3. Tap the item you want to remove.
  4. Tap the Delete button (trash icon) and confirm.

The item is removed from Lani's servers immediately and Lani stops referencing it in future conversations.

Reminders & check-ins

  1. Open Reminder Center from the home screen.
  2. Swipe the reminder to the left (iOS) or long-press it (Android).
  3. Tap Delete and confirm.

Medical ID entries

  1. Open Medical ID from Settings or the home screen.
  2. Tap the entry (condition, medication, allergy, or emergency contact) you want to remove.
  3. Tap Remove and confirm.

Apple Health / Health Connect access

Lani only reads health data with your explicit permission. To revoke access entirely or per data type:

Anything you turn off, Lani stops reading immediately. Any readings Lani had previously cached for that data type are cleared on the next sync.

Push-notification tokens

Disable notifications for Lani in your phone's Settings → Notifications → Lani. The next time Lani fails to deliver to that device, the server token is invalidated and removed from our database automatically.

Conversation history

If you need a clean slate without deleting your account, email admin@lani.health from the email on your account and ask for a conversation- history reset. We'll wipe the conversation log within 7 business days while keeping the rest of your profile intact.

Questions

Will deletion cancel my subscription?

No — paid subscriptions are managed by Apple's App Store or Google Play, not by Lani. After you delete your Lani account, cancel the subscription separately in your App Store or Play Store subscriptions list to stop further charges.

Can I restore my account after deletion?

No. Deletion is permanent. If you want to use Lani again later, you'll create a fresh account.

Does deletion remove data from Apple Health or Health Connect?

No. Lani only reads from those services with your permission and never writes to them. The original readings stay in Apple Health / Health Connect under your control. Lani's own summaries are deleted, but the source data on your phone is untouched.

What about the people who used to see my data in Lani Circle?

Once your account is deleted, the caregiver-pairing link is removed. Family members in Lani Circle no longer see your data, your alerts, or your recent activity.
